With the progression of paramedic education to distance based learning, ParamediSIM provides an easy and inexpensive option to carry out scenario based training remotely
Do you train prehospital care providers?
ParamediSIM includes free features that are designed to help EMS educators train tomorrow's healthcare professionals.
Our integrated Learning Management System (LMS) will allow you to:
- Manage Classes
- Assign Scenarios
- View student actions and scenario outcomes
- Provide student feedback
- Work with any web browser
How does it work?
Using the web-based LMS, an instructor creates a new class and provides the Class ID to their students.
Students download and launch ParamediSIM. When prompted, they enter the Class ID provided by their instructor.
Using the web-based LMS, the instructor creates assignments for each student or a group of students along with a specified due date.
In ParamediSIM, students see all the scenarios currently assigned by their instructor and complete them at their convenience prior to the assigned due date.
Students complete their assigned scenarios and receive feedback on their scenario performance. The student’s actions taken during the scenario as well as the details regarding the patient’s vital signs during each step of the scenario are uploaded to the LMS.
The instructor receives a notification that a student has completed an assigned scenario. Within the LMS, the instructor can access the scenario and view the overall result of the scenario as well as details regarding each action that the student took during the scenario.
Each time an action is taken during the scenario, a snapshot is created that provides information on the patient’s vital signs and condition at the time of the event to provide context to the event. This information can be viewed by clicking on each event.
An example of an actual scenario assignment within the LMS is shown below. Click the ▲ icon to expand the event and see vital signs and other patient information.
